Frequently Asked Questions
What is Zoo Kidz?
Zoo Kidz is a children’s preschool ministry uniquely designed with your child in mind. Kids, 6wks through k4, experience safe, age-appropriate environments where the Bible is taught in a creative and relevant way. Join the fun and experience a world where kids meet Jesus on their level.
Who Attends Zoo Kidz?
We welcome all children (6wks through k4) to attend Zoo Kidz each Sunday. We are so passionate about kids learning about Jesus in a way they can understand.
Our goal is to encourage preschoolers in a growing, loving relationship with Jesus Christ and others in an atmosphere where they feel a sense of belonging. We present biblical learning materials with a hands-on approach to help establish in the hearts of the children an active faith toward God and His Word.
Relationships
We desire for each child to experience a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. We also value children’s relationships within the small group setting as they relate to their small group leader and other children within the group.
Age Appropriateness
We are passionate about children learning about Jesus in a way they understand. Our environments and lesson materials are created based on the physical, mental and emotional needs of each child. We have designed age appropriate classes just for them. We teach the simplicity of the Gospel through a variety of stories, crafts, Bible action songs and other activities. Every lesson taught reinforces Bible truths. Children can be ministered to individually during this time.
Safety
We believe that safety is vital as families entrust us with their children each week. Therefore, every child’s name tag is matched to a parent-identification number, every volunteer is screened with an interview and federal background check, and every hallway is monitored with security personnel.
Creative Bible Teaching
The Bible is the most amazing book ever written! We strive to bring its stories to life through activities and discussions that keep children engaged. We want all children to love God’s word and understand the value of applying it to their lives.
Fun!
Kids love fun! We realize that when children have fun at church, they can’t wait to come back. We value creating fun ways for children to learn about Jesus.
First time at Zoo Kidz?
Look for the area designated for first time families at our Check in Booth where we will meet your family and check your child into our database system. Once your family is checked in, one of our volunteers will be happy to show you the age appropriate room we have created for your child.
We will ask for the following personal information: family member’s names, children’s names and birthdates, grade, family address, phone number and any special instructions (allergies, special needs) for your child.
You and your child will be given matching identification tags that are exclusive to your family and your visit. Your child will need to wear the name tag portion of your matching identification tags which bears a code that is matched to your portion during checkout at the end of the service. During checkout, you will return to your child’s room and show your tag in order for your child to be released back to you.
On your way home, be sure to ask your child: “Did you have fun?” and “What did you learn today?”
A Special Note
If for some reason your child were to need you during the service, your family identification number would appear on the screens in the auditorium. We would ask that you exit the auditorium immediately and look for a staff member who will direct you to your child’s room.
What Should I Expect When I Return to Zoo Kidz?
If for some reason your child were to need you during the service, your family identification number would appear on the screens in the auditorium. We would ask that you exit the auditorium immediately and look for a staff member who will direct you to your child’s room.
As you enter Zoo Kidz, your first stop should be at our Check-in Booth where a volunteer will check your child in for the service you are attending. Our check in booth will open 15 minutes prior to the start of each service and close 15 minutes after service begins. Volunteers will need your last name or your child’s full name in order for us to locate your family in our database system.
You will receive a set of stickers with a family identification number for you and for your child. Your child will wear the sticker with his or her name. Please hold on to your portion of the sticker until checkout at the end of the service. You will need it to check your child out of Zoo Kidz. No child is released unless the matching identification sticker is presented.
