Campus Pastor

Tim Barbee

I spent my early years in Fairview, Alabama, but in 1984, my family moved to Addison, where I later graduated from Addison High School in 1991. Right after graduation, I joined the U.S. Army and proudly served for 10 years, both here at home and overseas. After leaving the Army, life took me to many different places, but in 2007, I finally came back home to Cullman, Alabama. The same year, I began attending Temple Baptist Church, and in January 2008, I got saved and joined the church. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of serving in several different ministries.

I met my wife, Adrienne, in 2008. That same year, she trusted Christ as her Savior right here at Temple Baptist Church. We were married in 2009, and God has blessed us with four children—Ashley, Michalah, Seth, and Elliot. Today, our youngest son, Elliot, serves on the Guest Services team, and Adrienne sings in the choir at our Fairview campus.

God also opened the door for my family and me to partner with Unsheltered International, a ministry reaching the homeless and forgotten. Since it began in 2010, this ministry has grown strong, and I’m thankful to have had even a small part in it.

In December 2020, I was asked to serve as the Campus Pastor at Temple Baptist Fairview. Without hesitation, and by faith, I stepped out of my semi-truck and into that role. This calling has deepened my walk with the Lord and continues to challenge me daily. I am grateful for the opportunity.

Serving the Lord together as a family is one of our greatest joys. If you ever have the opportunity to visit, I would love to meet you, pray with you, and welcome you to the Fairview Campus!

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • What will I experience when I visit for the first time?

We make every effort to present an inviting and friendly atmosphere from the instant you drive into our parking lot until the moment you leave. We will not embarrass you or make you feel uncomfortable. We know that many people want to just check out our church and that is fine with us. Come in, enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, meet some new friends, and see if this is the church for you.

  • What do I wear?

At Temple, you will find a wide variety of style, from business coat and tie, to jeans and a t-shirt, we have it all. You are welcome in whatever you feel most comfortable.

  • What do you have for my children?

Your child will be amazed at our children’s ministry that is provided for every service.

In Zoo Kidz (6wks -4 year olds), we have trained volunteers that will present the love of Jesus to your little ones.

In Kidz Quest (K-5th grade), we have a high-energy, fun filled team of volunteers that edify your children on the miracles and wonders of God and His Word through skits, games and sign worship.

  • Do you have a midweek service?

We present a dynamic Bible Study open to everyone every Wednesday night at 7pm. However, the excitement does not stop there! We also offer a Kidz Quest Exploration program for children 2 years old to 5th grade, which starts at 6:30pm. Furthermore, let's not forget those teenagers! TSM provides a life changing experience for teen's 6th - 12th grade, which also starts at 6:30pm.

  • Will I have to give any money?

No. We would not ask any guest to contribute financially to the ministry here at Temple. Any offering you may give would be completely your decision.

  • Why should I attend Temple?

We do our best to supply you with every opportunity and resources to grow in your faith and understanding of God's plan for your life. From the pastor and the staff, to the volunteers, our goal is to provide all means necessary to allow you the life changing opportunity to not only grow closer to God, but fulfill the destiny He has planned for you.

  • How can I become a part of Temple?

We offer an assortment of ways to get involved. Our Life Groups supply a great atmosphere of prayer and care through shared fellowship. For Christian growth, we recommend our Growth Track program that offers a collection of discipleship classes. In addition, we are always eager to see new smiling faces on any one of our eight ministry teams; from greeters, to the youth ministry, to our Visual Media, or maybe in the band. We have a place for you!
