About Worship

Temple Worship Ministry’s focus is to create an atmosphere where people can freely worship God through music, whether it is singing, signing or instruments. Worship at Temple is more than music, more than a gathering, more than brief moments together in a service. Worship at Temple is a lifestyle that is lived out in spirit and truth with every opportunity presented. Worship is offering all to Him. It reveals the inner heart and the recognized value that we place upon God in our lives. Worship is more than just something we do. It is an attitude that we carry with us day by day, an attitude of genuine praise to God. We are incredibly blessed to have incredibly team of singers, musicians and signers.

  • Worship Team

    Temple’s worship ministry is focused on creating an atmosphere where we can freely worship God through song. Worship at Temple is more than just music. It is more than brief moments together in a church service. Worship at Temple is our offering everything to Him. It is an attitude of genuine praise to God. The worship team is composed of the choir and the bands. The choir sings in both the 9:00am and the 11:00am service each week and rehearses on Sundays from 2:30pm - 3:30pm. The bands play in both services on their scheduled Sundays and practice at 11:20am on their scheduled Sundays.

  • Audio

    Clear, high-quality sound is essential for worship. The Audio Team ensures that every song, every word, and every moment of the service is heard with excellence. From the main worship services to children’s church, student gatherings, and community events, we work behind the scenes to create an immersive audio experience for everyone.


    Whether it’s balancing live vocals, fine-tuning instruments, or managing audio for special events, our goal is to make sure nothing distracts from the message. If you have experience with live sound - or a passion to learn - there’s a place for you on the Audio Team!

  • Baptism Team

    Do you enjoy serving behind the scenes? Would you like to encourage others in their Christian walk? If so, then the baptism team might be the perfect opportunity for you to serve! We are looking for volunteers to help every other month in both the 9:00am and the 11:00am services. This would involve assisting those who are taking their next step in believer’s baptism. This team serves from 8:30am - 11:45am on baptism Sundays.

  • Member Care Team

    Our member care team serves as needed to minister to those who have lost a loved one. Those that serve on this team have the opportunity to encourage and serve a meal (provided by the church) to those families.

  • Baking Team

    Maybe you aren’t able to help serve a meal but perhaps you would enjoy making desserts to be served at meals prepared for grieving families. Then the baking team might be where you are needed? Both opportunities are wonderful ways to minister to others during their difficult time.

Worship Pastor

I have been leading the Worship Ministry at Temple Baptist for the past 16 years, and have been in worship ministry for over 30 years. At a young age, I knew God had a plan for me and music would be in that plan.

But, I never dreamed He would be using me in the capacity that I am in right now. I was born and raised in West Point, just miles from Temple Baptist. In the early 90's my family moved to Hartselle where my dad pastored for almost 20 years. Growing up a preacher's kid, I knew I wanted to serve the Lord as I had seen my dad do for so many years. 


After graduating from Hartselle High School in 1996,

I attended Wallace State and Athens State on music scholarships. In 2000, I married the love of my life Trina Halbrooks and in 2004 we welcomed our daughter Jayla. Our family enjoys beach & mountain trips, cruises, spending time with our families and any type of music events. 


When I am not here at the church or with family, I own/operate my own pest control company. I enjoy crawling under homes and helping people with their pest control issue which ties into helping to serve those that God allows for me to lead as worship pastor.
